Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance range earned her popular acclaim in a variety of genres from period drama to thrillers and action. Johansson was born in New York City, and was raised by an father, an architect, and mother who produced. She and her twin brother Hunter were the youngest siblings of four. At a very young age, she developed a passion for performing and started making commercial auditions around the age seven. After that, she was enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and later went to the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further hone her craft. In the Off-Broadway production Sophistry she worked with Ethan Hawke. She then had her first appearance in a film with North (1994), produced by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson made her debut on screen in Just Cause (1996), however she was Manny & Lo 1996 that was her breakthrough. The film is about two young girls that run away. The film, The Horse Whisperer, Johansson as a teen victim of an horrific crash. Her role in Ghost World brought her more fame as the outcast teen Rebecca. Smith found her first role acting at the age of 6 years old, through the support of her parents. She made a commercial for Dannon. Like many actresses who are just getting started, to improve her skills in theatre. She would work in different USA productions, while also making her debut on stage with Wildflower. She studied at the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory, part of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
